When I first came to Ecola I wasn't sure what to expect; college was a completely new experience to me. I came on the recommendations of friends who told me many times what a life-changing experience Ecola is, and what a great opportunity Ecola provides for spiritual growth. For the first few days I was a little overwhelmed by the new experience, this being my first extended time away from home. But that first week is when I began to realize how special Ecola is. By the third day our dorm of 16 guys felt like a close-knit family, a sense of closeness among the students began to grow, and I could already tell that this would be the ideal setting to strengthen my life in many areas.

It is now halfway through the year, and I have to say without a doubt that coming to Ecola is one of the best choices I have made in my life. My walk with God has grown stronger, my devotional habits have gone from almost nil to a good daily study, and some of the friends I have made will surely be lifelong. Now that I am staring at the halfway mark, the year seems almost too short. But I draw confidence in the fact that wherever the Lord leads me from here, I will always have the solid foundation that was built here.
