Amy BarrettGod brought me to Ecola for what I thought were a variety of reasons. It was a great opportunity to take a break from college and relax, to study the Bible in a beautiful setting, and to discover His will for my life. I find that Proverbs 16:9 best describes my efforts -- "In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps." God has used the mouths of speakers, staff, and pastors to communicate His own intentions for my purpose at Ecola. I can learn about God, memorize scripture, and be fervently busy in His service but completely miss KNOWING God. This year at Ecola I am learning remarkable things about God and His word and, who knows, I may just discover some of His plans for my life, but more importantly, I am learning to rest in Him, wait on Him, and learn that He is enough. A certain speaker left 60 some students with these words....

It is time to get back to Jesus alone.
It is time to separate His commands from Christian commands.
It is time to hear Him speak the Word.
It is time to simplify.
It is time for one step at a time.
It is time to consider some lilies and birds.
It is time for the secret place with Him alone.

Ecola has been just that time with Jesus alone.
